The Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa’s enrich program provides the opportunity to enhance your vacation by learning something new while giving back to our island community in meaningful ways. We have partnered with a number of diverse organizations that will provide you with a unique volunteer experience.
National Tropical Botanical Garden
Love plants? Work in the garden and be rewarded by contributing to the survival of plants, ecosystems, and cultural knowledge. Flexible days and times available. Call NTBG’s Volunteer Coordinator to arrange a time that works with your vacation schedule, 808 332 7324 ext. 228.
Kauai Humane Society
Love animals? Be a Dog Buddy or Cat Cuddler, it’s fun and helps Kauai’s animals to be good pets. Stop by the shelter to cuddle the cats or take a dog on a field trip - hiking, to the beach or just hanging out. If you’re flying on Alaska Airlines to Oakland or Portland you can arrange for a dog to be flown as your luggage. Once there, an Animal Shelter rep will pick the dog up for adoption. You do nothing but sign up, the Humane Society handles the rest. Call 808-632-0610
Hui o Laka
Enjoy hiking and being in the forest? Join in hands-on forest restoration projects in Kokee State Park eradicating invasive species and encouraging precious native plants to thrive. Activities for all ages and abilities. Flexible days and times. Call 808 335 9975 ext. 0 to arrange a convenient time for you.
Concerned about our seas? Surfrider Foundation works to protect the ocean for our enjoyment. . Beach clean-up opportunities will be posted on a poster near the concierge the week before they occur. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Habitat for Humanity
Want to help others? Habitat for Humanity is a helping hand, not a handout, assisting homeowners to build their new homes. Volunteers meet Tuesday & Saturday 8:00 AM at the Hanapepe Habitat store. For more information please call 808 335 0296.
